Velocite Friday night T20 championship winners

New Plymouth Old Boys’ Cricket Club Peelbacks wrapped up a full holiday weekend of cricket with a comfortable victory over Fitzroy Cricket Club Strikers in the Velocite Friday night T20 championship on Monday!!
Batting first, NPOB’s total of 133/8 seemed a little short on a deck that had seen plenty of runs all weekend. Josh Hamilton’s classy innings of 41 not out proved key, as did some exceptional fielding in the second innings as Old Boys turned the screws on the Fitzroy chase. Three big run outs were instrumental in keeping Fitzroy to 81 all out and delivering the first trophy of the season to Western Park!
