Taranaki Cricket will be adopting the Sport New Zealand ‘Balance is Better’ Philosophy from the start of the 2021/2022 season. ‘Balance is Better’ is an evidence-based philosophy to support quality sport experiences for all young people, regardless of ability, needs and motivations. It is about young people staying involved in sport for life and realising their potential at the right time.

With this in mind Taranaki Cricket is moving away from our traditional age group representative programme. Taranaki Cricket will be focusing on providing everyone an opportunity within the primary age group with the first representative teams being the Year 9 & 10 Boys & Girls.

Year 11-13 Girls – Thursday 3rd & 10th October 2024 from 11.30am – 1.00pm
Year 10 Boys – Friday 4th & 11th October 2024 from 9.30am – 11.00am
Year 11/12 Boys – Friday 4th & 11th October 2024 from 11.30am – 1.00pm
All trials are held at the Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre, Hobson Street, New Plymouth.

The development programme cost is $99.99 pp and includes a cap, playing shirt, 2x TCA coaching sessions at the Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre and a range of inter-district fixtures.
Wairarapa Lower North Island Primary Girls Cricket Festival, 13 – 15 January 2025. The festival is optional and the cost is $459.99 pp

The development programme cost is $119.99 pp and includes a cap, playing shirt, 2x TCA coaching sessions at the Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre and a range of inter-district fixtures.
