TCA raffle winners announced!

A huge congratulations to Mel and Mark Vassiliou, the winners of the Whitaker Civil Taranaki Cricket Association Raffle grand prize – five night’s accommodation at child free resort and spa in Rarotonga!

The raffle was a big success with all moneys raised to go towards re-kitting our junior representative sides with new playing uniforms for next season.

The second prize, a $1200 landscaping voucher, went to South Taranaki’s David White (not to be confused with the former NZC boss!), while Liam Bernet picked up third prize, a selection of local vouchers.

TCA General Manager Ryan Evans said he was stoked that the main prize went to a family that was closely involved with delivering junior cricket in Taranaki, with Mark managing our CD championship winning Year 9/10 boys’ team this year.

“After the season we’ve had with our junior reps, it was so awesome to see this prize go to a family whose parents go above and beyond in a volunteer capacity for Taranaki Cricket.”

“Hopefully they can reflect on a successful season’s work in the sun at Raro!”

Mark said it would be the first time in 16 years they would be off on holiday without their children.

“We go away a lot for the children, but not often without them, so really looking forward to enjoying a bit of a break this winter.”

The draw was made on Wednesday, January 31 at the TCA offices by JP Paul Wadsworth.

Evans said he was really pleased with how the raffle had gone and thanked TCA’s partner Bartercard New Zealand for their assistance in sourcing such a great range of prizes and also a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who sold tickets, your efforts have been greatly appreciated.
