Stumble Inn Woodleigh Cricket Club Premiers take out the Expert Turf Premier 2-Day Plate Division final
24 Mar 2025

A big congratulations to the Stumble Inn Woodleigh Cricket Club Premiers, who took out the Expert Turf Premier 2-Day Plate Division final over the weekend.
Having qualified top in the division, Woodleigh went into the game against Civil Quarries Inglewood Cricket Club at home on Sutherland Park and in pole position – and in form captain Shaun Sullivan made sure his side capitalised on the advantage.
Sullivan hit a mammoth double century as his side batted through to 439/10 midway through the morning session of the second day. His 218 runs came of 369 balls and featured 26 boundaries and two maximums. The task before Inglewood was huge with just two and half sessions to chase down the runs. They gave it an honest crack but with the run rate always demanding, wickets fell too regularly, and they were all out for 138 before tea, when the captains shook hands and Woodleigh’s celebrations began.
The Plate Division was a new initiative this year, trialled as part of the declaration cricket format, which saw the competition split into two divisions following a full round of declaration play.
Congratulations again to Woodleigh and to Shaun Sullivan for a very special knock.
