Pihama Cricket Club win the Velocite Division 1 Grand Final

Congratulations Pihama Cricket Club Taranaki on a standout win in the Velocite Division 1 grand final against Auroa Cricket Club at Pukekura Park on Saturday.
Batting first and posting a testing tally of 218, off the back of a 44-ball 65 from Scott Quinell, Pihama looked in the box seat as scoreboard pressure started to pile up in the second innings. But a valiant Auroa side refused to lie down and with Kolynn Tai leading the way with 58, the game wasn’t settled until the final over, Pihama coming out on top by 14 runs.
The game was everything you’d expect from these two South Taranaki rivals and a fantastic occasion for all involved. Enjoy the winter and we’ll see you again next year.
