NPOB women’s bowling attack has last word

Merit RV NPOB have taken the lead with one match to play in the Baker Tilly Women’s Premier Series after a low-scoring but close matchup at Victoria Park on Sunday.
The teams went into the fourth game of the series tied at one-apiece and with the home side handed the ball first up, quickly made inroads into the visitors’ lineup.
Christabel Chatonzwa continued her outstanding form over the summer taking 4/4 from eight overs, and she received good back up from her captain Amy Foreman (3/18) and Niamh Moriarty (2/9) as Old Boys stumbled through to 53.
But if Stratford thought the game was already in the bag, they were wrong – the Old Boys bowling attack turned around with a stunning performance of their own. Anika Scott was pick of the bowlers with 4/2 as Stratford could only muster up 33 in response. Zoe Ellerton-Kelly also bowled well for figures of 2/7. Foreman meanwhile, was left stranded on 14 not out, the only batter on the day to make it to double figures.
The result sees Old Boys go up 2-1 in the series, which will close out with a final game in Stratford on March 10.
