Fitzroy Cricket Club crowned Velocite Division 2 champions

Another cracker day of cricket at Pukekura Park on Sunday has seen Fitzroy Cricket Club crowned Velocite Division 2 champions.
With Arron Wisnewski clubbing 125 runs off just 84 balls and Johnny McCullough anchoring the innings with 54, Fitzroy set the New Plymouth & Marist United Cricket Club Hounds a formidable target of 289 for victory off 40 overs. The Hounds never gave the chase away, ultimately falling just 22 runs short. Nick Isaac hit 70 and Matthew Sim 48 to take the game down to the final overs before the required run rate got too high.
