Expert Turf premier cricket gets set for the Christmas break

The second round of two day matches in the Expert Turf premier club competition are set to wrap up this weekend before the teams head into the Christmas break.

At the TSB Hub in Hawera, Nag N’Noggin NPMU have already wrapped up first innings points over Metcalfe Real Estate Hawera and the home side resumes its second innings 172 runs behind with 10 wickets intact.

Stumble Inn Woodleigh also picked up first innings points over Whitaker Civil FDMC First XI and resume their first innings on 6 for 180, with a lead of 74.

The remaining two games are all still in their first innings.

At Karo Park New Plymouth Old Boys require just 15 runs for first innings points, with seven wickets in hand on 129, while Stratford’s match with New Plymouth Boys High School First XI is more evenly poised. Stratford resume on 3/84, having dismissed NPBHS for 163 on Day 1.

Patchy weather is forecast for Saturday which may limit opportunities to progress the matches further.
